Welcome to Pub Kamrup College
The department of Economics was established with the establishment of the college on 21st August, 1972 with an objective of building up an atmosphere of higher education in Economics and to contribute in the process of social upliftment. The department was started with the introduction of two years Pre-University Course. The two years degree course was introduced from 1974. Thereafter Three Years Degree Course was introduced from 1985 under the guidelines of Gauhati University. The honour (major) in the subject was introduced in 1976. Late Dulal Ch. Das was the founder head of the department. The department has started to offer courses under Choice based Credit System (CBCS) from 2019-20.
Vision: To be a prominent teaching department in Economics with the objective of preparing our students to be leaders capable of meeting the challenges of the developing local and global community.
Mission: To enrich the vision, the departmental efforts are related with the following missions.
