Welcome to Pub Kamrup College
With the establishment of the college in 1972, the Department of Education was also started for providing education at the pre university level. Formal inauguration of the classes was done on 21st August, 1972. The college authority had taken its initiatives to start degree classes from 1975-76 academic session. Accordingly the University of Gauhati accorded its necessary permission through its letter vide No Aft/53175/18988-90 dt. 17.9.95. Subsequently the Department of Education received its necessary affiliation from G.U. through vide letter no ECR NO 14/1/77(x x vii) dt. 05.02.77. The first student admitted in the degree courses was Shri Upendra Naryan Kumar and he offered education as one of his combination of subjects.
The department successfully kept its advance step by opening Major Course in Education in the academic session 1984-85 and received its formal permission from Gauhati University through vide letter No AFF/86/1916/dt 11.01.1986 and the concurrence to permission from the concerned authority was received through vide Letter No. B. C R No 298/24/88(4) dt 29/11/1988.
